How to help a newborn baby sleep at night that has a cold?

Our four-week-old baby seems to have caught his mummy’s cold and so he is not sleeping well when he gets stuffed up, and it seems to get worse at night and when he cries. Is there anything we can do to help him sleep and relieve his congestion? Apart from his cold he seems well enough and is eating well.
