Did mormon leaders ask members to donate money and time to support prop 8?

to ban gay marriage??
I have heard from LDS that…
The mormon church has sent letters, held video conferences and in church meetings asked for volunteers to support the campaign.

We were encouraged to ASSIST in the effort. I was never asked to donate any money and I didn’t! If people donated money, that’s their business! Same thing for the people that tried to defeat prop 8 – that was their business!

Volunteering time is different than donating money. I did volunteer my time. So did MANY OTHER CHURCHES!!!!
