awww i love baby showers!!
perhaps she doesnt like being swaddled- this is common as some babies actually dont like the feeling of being so restricted. Our baby boy was the same,so we figured that was time for us to start putting him in his cot when he was tired and letting him settle himself to sleep. Worked wonders- before when we tried to get himself to settle he HAD to be held and cuddled to fall asleep.

I used one that Velcros, but not at that age. I stopped swaddling before that because of that reason. I used this one
I would never use this method. The knot behind the shoulders creates a bad pressure point and the legs are pulled up toward the body. The fact that the material streches does not make up for a poor method.

Personally I didn't like the cotton ones for swaddling as they didn't have any give to them and got unwrapped easily. I used a cotton waffle weave blanket and it worked fine. They also sell swaddling blankets with velcro tabs. They worked like a charm for my 2nd daughter but my son could get right out of his every time. I think he was a much longer baby.
